ELKTON – A man caught with a sawed-off shotgun on the street of an Elkton neighborhood in February – while on probation in an unrelated assault case – received a five-year prison term Monday after accepting a plea deal, according to Cecil County Circuit Court records.
Cecil County Circuit Court Judge William W. Davis Jr. imposed a 15-year sentence on the defendant – Alex L. Dove, 22, of Elkton – for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon or a person with a disqualifying conviction and then suspended 10 years of the penalty, court records show.
Court records indicate that Dove is prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition because he was convicted of domestic-related second-degree assault in September 2023 and that his probation in that criminal case does not end until November 2027…
