NORTH AUGUSTA — The city of North Augusta is proposing the equivalent of 2-mill property tax increase for next year, this primarily to help fund additional personnel costs, life-cycling of equipment and the final stage in what’s already been a two-year transition away from lease-purchase agreements.
Aiken County underwent a reassessment this year, and rising home values are contributing to the proposed increase, though in actual terms the millage rate would decline.
