A Louisville man awaiting sentencing in a past criminal case involving burglary and tampering with physical evidence is back behind bars after authorities said he cut off his ankle monitor in August and committed another burglary over the weekend.
Davon Jamel Johnson, 27, was arrested Sunday afternoon following an incident at a residence on Earl Avenue in south Louisville. According to court records, officers located and arrested Johnson inside a liquor store on South 7th Street.
Court records show Johnson was wanted since August 9, after the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections received a tamper alert on his GPS monitor. Officials found his severed ankle monitor on Miller Avenue, but Johnson remained at large until Sunday’s arrest…
