MYETTE POINT – While leading wire-to-wire of a two-day Louisiana Bass Anglers tournament Sept. 26-27 at Lake Fausse Pointe, then Henderson Lake, Mike Sinitiere had more on his mind than staying in the thick of the Angler of the Year race for 2026.
The New Iberia bass angler with multiple Angler of the Year titles to his credit noted he and his tournament partner, Brooke Morrison of Youngsville, were “fishing with a heavy heart” over the weekend because their friend, Kirt Romero of New Iberia, an avid bass angler, died Sept. 24, two days before his 59th birthday. Romero’s many other friends in and outside the bass fishing community were feeling the loss, too…
