As we near the one year mark since the current drought began, the entire state of Arkansas remains under high risk for wildfire and nearly every county in the state has been placed under a burn ban, with the exception of a handful of counties in Northern Arkansas.
The lack of rainfall is also affecting water supplies across the state, especially here in Conway County and in the city of Conway, where we share Brewer Lake as a water supply. The water level at the lake is almost 15 feet below being full, and both water systems are under Phase 3 of an involuntary water curtailment plan.
