ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – With consistent rain hitting the Metro Tuesday, the City of Albuquerque has had crews working throughout the day to clean up roads where flooding poses a risk to drivers.

Fred Montoya, Operation and Maintenance Superintendent with the city’s Municipal Development Department, said this type of flooding can cause drivers to lose control and skid off the road and hydroplane. That’s why they’ve been clearing up this type of flooding on the roads. At Paseo Del Norte and Universe Crews, could be seen working to clear out a pool of water that had gathered on the roadway, using their vacuum truck and sweepers to pump the water out of the road.
The city said they also responded to other areas that typically flood in the southwest and North Valley. “We have everybody on continuation of shift, the crews that are here right now. And then we also have 10 employees on standby and two supervisors for tonight,” said Montoya…
