BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — An injured motorcyclist was airlifted from remote terrain northeast of Sand Canyon Sunday afternoon after ground crews were not able to reach the rider.
The Kern County Sheriff’s Office said on September 27, 2026, at around 1:15 p.m., the KCSO Search and Rescue helicopter Air-5 responded from the sheriff’s hangar to an inaccessible off highway vehicle area northeast of Sand Canyon at the request of the Kern County Fire Department.
