NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — A 44-year-old Goose Creek woman faces multiple felony charges after police say she ran over an injured person lying in the roadway while driving under the influence early Monday morning.
Rasney Jabret Brutley was charged with felony driving under the influence and hit-and-run resulting in great bodily injury.
According to the North Charleston Police Department, officers responded just before 12:30 a.m. to the U.S. Highway 52 connector following reports of a collision involving an injured person in the road and a driver who had fled the scene.
Police said witnesses tried to stop Brutley from leaving and warned her that a victim was lying in the street. Despite those warnings, investigators said Brutley drove away, running over the victim before speeding off…
