Lowcountry agencies receive crime victim assistance funding

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson said some Lowcountry organizations have received funding from the state’s Department of Crime Victim Assistance grant, part of a larger $29 million fund.

“When a person is the victim of a crime, that’s not the end of the victimization,” Wilson said.

More than $9.2 million in funding is going to 30 agencies throughout the Lowcountry, from Beaufort County up the coast to Horry County. There were 39 grants given in total…
