Over $37,000 stolen from food pantry in Ohio, woman & former co-director indicted

DELAWARE, OH (WTRF) — A former co-director of an Ohio food pantry has been indicted after authorities say she stole at least $37,500 from the organization and its donors, including elderly Ohioans.

Ohio Attorney General Andy Wilson announced that Kathryn Whiting, 62, of Delaware, faces felony charges of theft from a person in a protected class, telecommunications fraud, and prohibited acts and practices for charities.

The charges were filed in Delaware County Common Pleas Court and stem from Whiting’s management of the Eastside Mission Food Pantry, a ministry of Eastside Mission Church in Delaware…
