Long Beach Peninsula residents and city officials are racing against the tide to prepare for approaching super El Niño’s storm surges, including rising sea levels, king tides and torrential rainfall.
With storms projected to hit in early October, residents are still recovering from Hurricane Marie’s damages during Labor Day weekend, as high tides continue to crash against uprooted boardwalk and coat boarded-up homes with sand from the eroded coast.
