Residents reported hearing what sounded like gunshots near uptown Hoboken’s Walgreens around 2AM on Wednesday, September 30th, 2026. DMs and accounts sent directly to The Hoboken Girl team on Instagram along with posts on the Hoboken Reddit community along with described several loud shots near the parking lot, followed by yelling and a vehicle leaving the area. These accounts have not been independently verified, though our team has reached out to the Hoboken Police Department for an official statement.
Police were at the scene around 4AM and according to eye witness accounts, the parking lot remained taped off at approximately 7AM. There is also shattered glass at Walgreens, though the cause of the damage has not been confirmed.
As of 9:45AM September 30th – Hoboken Police Department sent a statement regarding reports of shots fired:
“The Hoboken Police Department is investigating reports of shots fired in the parking lot of Walgreens, 1300 Willow Ave., around 2AM. There are no reports of injuries or victims at this time. The HPD Detective Bureau is actively investigating the incident and asks anyone with information or relevant video footage to contact Det.
