LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY)– Scammers are billing Medicare for equipment on behalf of beneficiaries in Acadiana, so they can profit.
Yulandera Moody, Outreach Specialist with Senior Medicare Fraud, said the top current scam in the area is false claims for urinary catheters.
“The scammer sends the catheters. They bill Medicare for those catheters,” Moody said. “Medicare sends them a check, and that’s free money they walk away with.”…
