Latter-day Saint representative joins interfaith gathering during Pope Leo XIV’s visit to France

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — On the final day of Pope Leo XIV’s visit to France, representatives from different faith communities gathered for an interreligious meeting, including a local leader of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Michael Ulrich, president of the Nancy France Stake, represented the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the meeting, something the Church said reflected an ongoing friendship between Latter-day Saints and Catholics in the region.

Pope Leo XIV visited France from Sept. 25 to 28 under the motto, “That the world may have life.” The interfaith gathering took place on his final day, and he also attended a gathering focused on peace and unity in Europe and Mass at Saint-Étienne Cathedral.
