EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – One woman was reportedly shot by another on Pollack Avenue.
According to the Evansville Police Department (EPD), officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of Pollack Ave at just after 1:30 p.m. on October 1 in reference to a shots fired run. Officers arrived and say they located a woman suffering from a gunshot wound to her lower body. The female was treated on scene before being taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
EPD officers say they were flagged down nearby by another woman who admitted to being the shooter. The woman was detained and the handgun used was recovered. It was learned that an altercation happened inside a residence in the 1600 block of Pollack Avenue between the two women.

Police say the alleged shooter was reportedly inside the home when the woman who was shot entered, and a physical altercation started in a rear bedroom. The fight continued through the home until both women were separated near the front of the residence. Once outside the residence, the shooter reportedly pointed a handgun she had retrieved from inside the home at the woman who was shot.
