Alabama homicide suspect arrested after chance run-in with Perry County sheriff

PERRY COUNTY, Miss. (WDAM) – An Alabama homicide suspect was arrested in Perry County on Sept. 21 after fleeing from deputies and later scuffling with the county sheriff outside a relative’s home.

Deputies initially went to a residence in the Buck Creek community following a tip that a man was living there under an alias to evade arrest.

Upon the deputies arrival, the man, later identified as 68-year-old Comer McWaters, ran into nearby woods.
