AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — As temperatures drop in Amarillo, a winter farmers market is returning to keep local shopping going and give small businesses a place to sell their products year-round.
Amarillo’s Winter Farmers Market opens Saturday with more than 80 local vendors offering bread, cheese, jams, vegetables and other goods. Now in its third year, the market is held indoors.
“The only difference is we’re indoors. Bring your kids, bring your dogs. The same thing as being outdoors, but you’ll be warm and climate controlled inside our building,” organizer and vendor Jamie Woelke said. “A lot of these vendors do this full time. This is their living. And so once those summer markets closed, they don’t have a lot of places to go. And so it’s been so great not only for the vendors or for the community to so get their local breads, cheeses all year round, not just in the summertime.”…
