A familiar name in Southeast Arkansas mental health care is disappearing after more than six decades as Southeast Arkansas Behavioral Healthcare System dissolves and its clinics transition to new operators.
Signs of that transition were visible in Pine Bluff this week, where the Southeast Arkansas Behavioral Healthcare System sign was seen being removed from the organization’s longtime clinic at 2500 Rike Drive.
ARcare is assuming operations of the Pine Bluff and Stuttgart clinics, while Mainline Health Systems is taking over services previously provided through SABHS in Star City and Sheridan. SABHS was founded in 1964 as Arkansas’ first community mental health center and is dissolving after 62 years…
