Lancaster County works to address flooding

LANCASTER COUNTY, Neb. — Historic overnight flooding swept through Lancaster County after an unprecedented deluge dumped 6.15 inches of rain at the Lincoln Airport, breaking the city’s all-time single-day rainfall record. Unofficial reports in surrounding rural areas indicated totals reaching 10 inches or more.

The extreme weather triggered emergency water rescues, closed dozens of county roads, and prompted local agencies to execute precautionary evacuation protocols.
