Man accused of performing plastic surgery without license faces 11 charges in grand jury indictment

DENVER (KDVR) — A man has been indicted by a grand jury for allegedly performing medical procedures without a license and falsely representing himself as a medical doctor.

Carlos Hernandez-Fernandez, 46, faces following 11 charges for allegedly performing unauthorized medical procedures on various victims, the Colorado First Judicial District Attorney’s Office announced Thursday.

  • Three counts — first-degree assault
  • Second-degree assault
  • Two counts — criminal attempt to commit first-degree assault
  • Five counts — unauthorized practice of a profession or occupation — medicine

Hernandez-Fernandez in February 2025 opened Bare Beauty Aesthetic Care in Lakewood, doing so in a partnership with an Arizona-based licensed medical doctor, the DA’s office said.
