UNR Remembers Route 91 victims through acts of kindness

Nine years after the Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting in Las Vegas, a remembrance that began with one Northern Nevada teenager is continuing and expanding at the University of Nevada, Reno.

Emma Doty and Troy Barrera, director of executive outreach for ASUN, joined ARC Reno Thursday morning to share the story behind the remembrance. Doty was 14 when the Route 91 shooting happened, and two years later began putting the names and photos of each victim on candy bars and handing them out to classmates as random acts of kindness. She continued the tradition at UNR, and now that Doty has graduated, ASUN is carrying the project forward across campus…
