City of Euclid Seeks Resident Input on Deer Encounters

The City of Euclid is urging residents to report any encounters with deer through a new online tool. This initiative aims to address the growing concerns surrounding deer-related issues within the community and is being conducted under the advisement and in partnership with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Division. The Urban Deer Issue Reporting Tool (UrbanDIRT) has been introduced as the primary platform for gathering valuable data to inform future local wildlife management strategies.

With the expansion of urban areas, interactions between humans and wildlife have become increasingly common, and deer are at the forefront of these interactions. They are known to cause damage to gardens and properties and contribute to traffic accidents. Understanding these challenges from the residents’ perspectives is crucial for the City of Euclid to assess the scale and nature of these issues accurately.
