BURLINGTON, N.J. – Two dogs that were once homeless are now training to protect and serve with the Burlington County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit, according to law enforcement and rescue officials.

What we know:
Nina, a 1-year-old Dutch Shepherd, and Dolly, a 1-year-old Malinois, are the latest additions to the Burlington County Sheriff’s Office K-9 team. Nina was rescued from a Newark animal shelter by Pinelands Unleashed Rescue, while Dolly was found as a stray by a police department in North Jersey.
