WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – As locals summer slides into autumn (and the glorious weather that comes with it) there is plenty on the agenda to keep you busy. From oyster roasts to food and beer festivals, you can quickly find your calendar booked for weeks to come. Let’s take a look at a range of foodie events in the coming weeks! Note: there are several other events I did not include due to low tickets or their general exclusivity, but if you can think of anything I missed, I would love to include it here!
Oktoberfest Under the Bridge
Wilmington’s Waterline Brewing Company is ready to celebrate it’s 11th Annual Oktoberfest Under the Bridge on Saturday, October 3. If you haven’t been, it’s easily the biggest Oktoberfest in the area and an event that I circle on my calendar months in advance. Plenty of German-inspired beers and food, an Oompah band and a number of contests create a gathering reminiscent of those in Bavaria. The event runs from 1 p.m. – 8 p.m. You can find more information here.
NC Oyster Festival
The 45th Annual NC Oyster Festival is October 17 and 18 in Ocean Isle Beach. This family-friendly event always brings a crowd for all the oysters you can eat, along with live music and craft vendors. It’s one of the best small-town festivals in the area and this year WECT’s Highway 6 will even be there! Information is available here.
