Scattered slow-moving tropical downpours, flood threat

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Numerous to scattered rounds of tropical downpours will bring heavy rain and a localized flood threat into the weekend.

Rest of Day

Through the morning, a slow-moving complex of moderate to heavy rain has remained near-stationary over Lampasas, Burnet, and Blanco County. Several inches of rain have fallen in parts of Blanco and Burnet County in just a few hours (LCRA).

Austin Area Rainfall Amounts

A Flood Watch continues until 7PM this evening. An additional 1-3″ of rain is possible for the eastern Hill Country and east by Saturday morning. Localized additional new rainfall totals up to 4″ will be possible in spots, but most won’t see amounts that high.

Weekend

Intermittent showers are looking likely at times on Saturday… but coverage and intensity should be less than what we see today. Rain chances chances drop day by day with an improving forecast by Sunday.
