EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A year after 30-year-old Xavier Hernandez died in El Paso Police custody during a mental health crisis, the District Attorney’s Office is expected to present two completed investigations into his death to a grand jury.
The Texas Rangers investigation and an internal investigation done by EPPD will be presented to a grand jury to determine any criminal liability in the homicide case, according to the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) and Hernandez’s family, who were told by DA James Montoya.
