Burglary crew hit 9 businesses in 2 hours from Lincoln Park to Humboldt Park, cops say

Chicago police are looking for four people who broke into nine businesses during a fast-moving overnight spree that stretched from Lincoln Park to Humboldt Park early Tuesday, targeting cash registers, gaming machines and merchandise. The group also tried to take money from ATMs but was unable to open the machines, according to detectives.

The crew used a gray Honda Pilot to get around, starting around 3 a.m. with businesses in the 2400 block of North Clark Street and the 2700 block of North Ashland Avenue in Lincoln Park. They then continued west, hitting seven more businesses between 3:28 a.m. and 4:24 a.m., police said:

  • 2400 block of West Diversey Avenue
  • 2800 block of West Fullerton Avenue
  • 1300 block of North Western Avenue
  • 4200 block of West Fullerton Avenue
  • 3600 block of West North Avenue
  • 2300 block of West Chicago Avenue
  • 800 block of North Western Avenue

CPD described three of the four people as being of unknown sex and race, between 20 and 30 years old, about 5-foot-10 to 6-foot-1 and 170 to 190 pounds. All three were wearing black ski masks, black pants and black hooded sweatshirts. Police did not provide a description of a fourth person involved in the burglaries…
