Convicted felon accused of drug trafficking after cocaine, fentanyl found in Asheville

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (FOX Carolina) – A convicted felon was arrested on drug charges on Thursday, according to the Asheville Police Department.

Eric Lee Anderson, Sr., 45, is facing the following charges:

  • Trafficking in fentanyl
  • (2 counts) Possession with intent to manufacture, sell, deliver schedule II
  • (2 counts) Possession with intent to manufacture, sell, deliver controlled substance within 1000ft of a park
  • Possession of schedule II
  • Simple possession schedule VI
  • Resisting public officer
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

Housing Unit Officers tried to get in touch with Anderson on Granada Street around 7:20 p.m. when he fled on an e-bike. He was later found nearby and taken into custody, police said.

Officers report Anderson left a bag with crack cocaine, methamphetamine and fentanyl inside. Over seven grams of fentanyl, over a gram of crack cocaine and .14 grams of methamphetamine were seized in total…
