FLATBUSH, Brooklyn (PIX11) — Activists and neighbors are drawing attention to what appears to be a sudden increase in ICE enforcement in Flatbush, Brooklyn, the neighborhood known for having the largest demographic of Caribbean immigrants in New York City.
Activists from the coalition Hands Off NYC documented seeing ICE operations conducted in the area of Cortelyou and East 35th Street between Sep. 28 and Oct. 1, according to a social media post on Wednesday.

Organizers from the cultural organization Little Caribbean also reported that agents were seen in the areas of Lenox Road, Linden Boulevard and Bedford Avenue on Friday morning.
The sightings come two months after Temporary Protected Status was terminated for Haitians in the United States. Flatbush is also home to one of the largest populations of Haitian people in the U.S.
