Historic Walnut Street Bridge reopens: Reviving 135 years of Chattanooga history

CHATTANOOGA — For more than 130 years, the Walnut Street Bridge has been part of Chattanooga’s story, first carrying horse-drawn carriages, then cars, and eventually becoming the beloved pedestrian bridge we know today.
