Hauling a ton of garbage to the Polk County landfill will cost more starting Oct. 1, with the price set to climb again every year through 2030.
Polk County Government announced the new disposal rates Sept. 29. The new rates apply at the North Central Landfill and the county’s transfer station, and they cover the three categories most Polk County households and contractors typically haul: garbage, construction and demolition debris, and yard waste.
The New Rate Increase
Garbage and construction and demolition debris both move from $46 per ton to $48.30 per ton. Yard waste goes from $36.50 per ton to $38.33 per ton.
A $10 minimum fee applies per transaction, so a small load of brush still costs $10 even when the weight would price lower…
