PLAQUEMINE, La. (WAFB) – School administration confiscated a pellet gun on the Plaquemine High School campus this morning, according to Iberville Parish School District Superintendent Louis Voiron, Jr.
The item was discovered and intercepted by staff while unboxing packages received from a shipping company, Voiron said. An investigation determined the pellet gun was ordered by a student and shipped directly to the school.
Package intercepted before reaching students
Voiron said the package was intercepted immediately upon delivery, stopping the item before it reached the school’s entry security protocols. The pellet gun never reached any classrooms, student areas or other parts of campus, he said.
“At no time were students or staff in danger,” Voiron said.
Sheriff’s office notified
The Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office was immediately notified, Voiron said. The student responsible has been identified and addressed in accordance with district policy and law enforcement guidelines, according to Voiron…
