Got a closet full of old towels and blankets? Don’t assume nobody wants them and throw them in the garbage. There are actually several places in Lubbock that can put your old linens to work.
Here are a couple of places to consider donating your old blankets, towels, and sheets to:
Guadalupe Economic Services Corporation
According to their website, they accept used blankets, quilts, sheets, towels, and other household items. You can take your donations to 1502 Erkine Street, where the organization will then distribute them to families in need across the South Plains.
Lubbock Impact
This is another excellent place to donate. Lubbock Impact accepts clean blankets, sheets, and towels. You can donate Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30 am at 2707 34th Street.
Lubbock Has a Library Tortoise Named Tortellini, and He’s a Grumpy Little King
Grace Campus
The Grace Campus donation list specifically includes bedding like pillows, blankets, and sheets, but they also take towels and washcloths. They are located at 1301 Avenue A.
Animal Shelters
Some animal shelters will also accept old sheets and blankets. Your favorite old blanket just might make the most perfect snuggly bed for a couple of kitties or puppies.
Important Reminder
Remember: Different organizations have different rules. Make sure you check out the websites or give them a call if you have any questions before you head over…
