SEDGWICK COUNTY—A suspect accused of making a threat to kill the Mayor of Wichita is due back in court.
Griffin K. Cornejo, 50, Wichita, is scheduled to attend an arraignment hearing in the courtroom of Judge Kevin Smith, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s office. The judge could ask him to enter a plea to a charge of criminal threat.
On March 23, police confirmed the alleged threat. “We are aware of the threats made against Mayor Lily Wu. Our investigators have been in contact with the Mayor and police are working closely with the mayor and her staff.”
