A South Carolina mother accused of killing her two children shared frantic messages from family members begging to see them before they were found dead.
Emory Deacon, 2, and 15-month-old Harlow Deacon were found dead in their home in Ladson on September 29 as deputies were conducting a welfare check, the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement. The children were not named in the sheriff’s office statement but were later identified by the coroner.
Their mother, Justine May, has been arrested in connection with their deaths. In the weeks before the girls were found dead, deputities had conducted 13 wellness checks at the home, including one on September 20.

However, authorities “observed no signs of concern” during the checks, the sheriff’s office said. But at the same time, May had been taking to social media to share a trail of frantic emails and texts from family members concerned about her children’s wellbeing.
