Fayetteville Police to launch Drone Program as part of multi-million-dollar upgrade

The Fayetteville Police Department is set for a major technological overhaul, following City Council’s approval of a $17.3 million, 75-month agreement with Axon Enterprise, a leading provider of law enforcement technology nationwide.

The upgrade includes a new Drone as First Responder (DFR) program, expanded use of virtual reality for officer training, and strategic investments in software and equipment designed to enhance public safety and efficiency.

“We’re talking about five docs within the city, and we’ll strategically place them based on our call volume within the city in order to take advantage of those drones,” said Fayetteville Police Chief Roberto Bryan Jr.
