One of Corpus Christi’s most popular attractions will be closed for roughly a week after a vehicle crash damaged key elements to its operation.
In a news release issued Oct. 2, city officials wrote that the Watergarden fountain would undergo repairs from Oct. 4 through Oct. 10, after a Sept. 19 incident in which “a vehicle entered the Watergarden area, drove through the basin, and became stuck.”
The email states that the event, clocked at 2 a.m., was investigated by the Corpus Christi Police Department and that city officials intend to “file a claim against the driver responsible for the accident, seeking to recover all expenses related to the repair process and the cost of water replenishment.”…
