EUGENE, Ore. – Two local chefs will race the clock to turn imperfect and commonly wasted foods into delicious dishes during the first Im(Perfect) Food Faceoff, beginning at noon Saturday, Oct. 3, at the Farmers Market Pavilion.
According to Waste Wise Lane County, the free event is held in celebration of Food Waste Prevention Week. Chefs Garrett Kirsch from Seasoned and Kathryn Nordgren from Sunriver Brewing Company will compete in the 20-minute competition.
Just before the competition begins, Kirsch and Nordgren will receive a surprise box of distressed, imperfect or commonly wasted foods sourced with help from Lane County Farmers Market vendors.
