ALBANY — Lorenz Kraus’ televised confession in which he admitted to killing his parents nearly a decade ago will be allowed as evidence in his murder trial.
In a 10-page decision issued Friday, state Supreme Court Justice William T. Little found that Kraus’ rights were not violated by the “mere presence” of a State Police investigator during his interview with former WRGB-CBS6 anchor Greg Floyd.
Little’s review of the evidence found that “the police’s involvement with the CBS6 News interview was limited to that of security — including ensuring the safety of all participants. The record demonstrates that the police did not instigate this interview, were not involved in the crafting or asking of questions, nor did they discuss the substance of the interview with news representatives.”…
