AKRON, Ohio – Elijah Grice fielded the opening kickoff for East on Saturday afternoon and returned it up the sideline for a touchdown. It was just a sign of things to come for the Dragons in 38-7 Akron City Series win over Ellet.
“It’s actually supposed to go to (Emmanuel Jefferson),” Grice said with a laugh. “But I saw it, I picked it up, and I saw a big hole, and I just took it. Chris Russell got me a block, and we took it all the way.”
East (6-1, 2-0) scored on its first five offensive possessions of the first half, including three in the first quarter.
