CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – A mother is burying her second child in three years after her son was struck and killed while crossing a street in Akron’s Highland Square neighborhood. Sharon Franklin wants the woman who allegedly hit her son, to be held accountable.
Police say a car came speeding down Market Street, through the heart of Highland Square, as 35-year-old Jaymesson Franklin crossed, killing him.
Investigation underway
According to the Akron Police Department, officers were called to the area of West Market Street and South Highland Avenue at approximately 2:05 a.m. for a crash involving multiple vehicles and a pedestrian.
A preliminary investigation found that a red Chrysler 300 was speeding westbound on West Market Street when it hit Franklin crossing the street. The Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man as Jaymesson A. Franklin, 35, of Akron…
