Utes Show Promise in Fall Ball Doubleheader Against BYU

The Utah Utes took on in-state rival BYU at The Ballpark at America First Square, home of the Salt Lake Bees, in their second of five Fall Ball games.

The rival schools agreed to a six-inning doubleheader in Friday’s sold-out event in South Jordan.

Each team showed off its entire pitching staff, with a new pitcher taking the mound seemingly every half inning and close to 20 pitchers from both teams taking the bump throughout the doubleheader.

Game One

The first of the two games ended in a 7-5 Utah loss. The Utes plated two runs in the top of the sixth to cut BYU’s lead to 6-5, but with it being Fall Ball, the Cougars still batted in the bottom half of the inning. BYU added another run to seal the Game 1 victory…
