CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The Lewis Barbecue team is turning up the heat for the ninth annual Hatch Chile Roast at sister restaurant Rancho Lewis on Sunday afternoon, with on-site chile roasting, tastings from 30+ local chefs, family-friendly entertainment, and a chile-eating contest featuring a three-time reigning Charleston firefighter.
Pitmaster John Lewis and the Lewis Barbecue and Ranch Lewis teams are celebrating the annual chile harvest in Hatch Valley, New Mexico, and Lewis’s West Texas and New Mexico roots with the local Hatch Chile Roast at Rancho Lewis on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., giving families a chance to join the fun in the Lowcountry.
