Newburgh man accused of nearly causing crash while driving drunk

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – A 54-year-old Newburgh man is spending the rest of his weekend in jail after being arrested Saturday night in Evansville.

Around 7:30 p.m., Evansville Police officers say they spotted a red pickup truck driving recklessly on Pollack Avenue.

Officers say the driver, later identified as Mitchell Ferguson, nearly rear-ended a van in front of him and swerved into oncoming traffic across a double-yellow line.

Police then pulled Ferguson over. Officers say he handed them a Walmart oil change invoice instead of his registration…
