A man and woman were killed Sunday morning in Jefferson County after their vehicle collided with a tree that fell across U.S. 90 near County Road 158 in north Florida.
The incident occurred about 7:10 a.m. on the two-lane highway east of Tallahassee where it is listed as State Road 10 near Misty Lake Road, according to a Florida Highway Patrol spokesperson. The victims, identified only as a 70-year-old Monticello man and a 69-year-old Monticello woman, were pronounced dead at the scene.
“A big tree from the north shoulder, fell across both lanes on US 90,” the FHP accident report states. “(The vehicle) was traveling westbound on US 90 and collided with the tree. Following this occurrence, the driver and passenger … were pronounced deceased on scene.”…
