Man Critically Hurt After Being Hit by Pickup on San Antonio’s West Side

A man was hospitalized in critical condition Saturday evening after being struck by a pickup truck near North General McMullen and Culebra Road on San Antonio’s West Side. The crash happened around 6:40 p.m., and police on scene said they had received a call reporting that the man had jumped in front of the truck before he was hit.

According to KABB, the driver of the pickup stayed at the scene after the collision. The man was rushed to a local hospital in San Antonio, and as of Saturday night, the investigation into the crash remained ongoing.

A West Side Intersection With a History

This is not the first time this stretch of road has seen a pedestrian critically hurt. Back in December, a man was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle late at night at the very same intersection of Culebra Road and North General McMullen, according to News 4 San Antonio. In that earlier case, police said the man was struck while crossing the roadway around 11:42 p.m. and was rushed to University Hospital in critical condition…
