Purple Line Work Closes Downtown Silver Spring Intersection Overnight

The intersection of Wayne Avenue and Fenton Street in downtown Silver Spring will be closed overnight from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. for Maryland Purple Line work, with the closure expected to last through Thursday, October 15, according to the Montgomery County Department of Transportation.

Ride On bus routes 15, 16, 17, 20, and 28 will be detoured because of the closures, MCDOT said in an announcement posted last week.

Route 15 to the Takoma Langley Transit Center will travel from Wayne Avenue and Georgia Avenue, left on Georgia Avenue, right on Colesville Road, right on Spring Street (which becomes Cedar Street), left on Wayne Avenue, and back on the route. Bus stops at eastbound Wayne Avenue & Fenton Street (stop ID #27060) and eastbound Wayne Avenue & 824 Wayne Avenue (stop ID #27061) will be bypassed; riders should use stops at Silver Spring Transit Center Bay 222 (stop ID #17484) and eastbound Wayne Avenue & Cedar Street (stop ID #27062)…
