Police Back Bryson Reyes: Milwaukee Cops, Waukesha Deputies and a Former Sheriff Line Up Behind Army Vet in Open Assembly Race

The officers who patrol Milwaukee and the deputies who answer calls across Waukesha County have picked their candidate for the Assembly seat at the heart of the city of Waukesha. It’s Bryson Reyes.

The Milwaukee Police Association, the Waukesha Deputy Sheriff Labor Union and retired Waukesha County Sheriff Arnold Moncada have all endorsed Reyes, a Republican Army veteran running in the 82nd Assembly District. The endorsements, posted on Reyes’ campaign website, put a wall of law enforcement support behind the first-time candidate as he heads into the Nov. 3 election against Democratic Waukesha Alderman Enrique ‘Rico’ Camacho. The seat is open because Republican Rep. Scott Allen is not seeking re-election.

Reyes has built his public safety pitch around holding repeat offenders accountable. His platform argues that crime in Milwaukee is spilling into Waukesha because offenders are too often released without consequences, and it points the finger at activist district attorneys and low bail. “When accountability breaks down, it puts law abiding residents at greater risk,” the campaign wrote…
