French Quarter restaurant owner says Decatur Street construction caused ceiling collapse

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – The owner of French Market Restaurant and Bar says part of the dining room ceiling collapsed, leaving a shoebox-sized hole, which she attributes to nearby Sewerage and Water Board construction on Decatur Street.

Christina Marullo, owner of French Market Restaurant and Bar, said the work is also causing large cracks and buckling throughout the building. She said the business closed its balcony because of structural safety concerns.
