BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A person is dead after being struck by a vehicle Sunday in Oildale, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP said officers responded to the report of a traffic crash involving a vehicle and a person riding an electric scooter just before 4:30 p.m. on Airport Drive and El Tejon Avenue.
Officers said a 34-year-old male was driving a 2007 Kia in the number one lane northbound on Airport Drive at an unknown speed when a female juvenile entered the roadway in a crosswalk.

The Kia then struck the girl, leaving her with major injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to CHP…
